Creating an Account

Getting started with SDGL-SaaS is quick and easy. Follow these steps to create your account and begin your sustainability journey.

Step 1: Sign Up

Visit the Platform

Open your browser and navigate to: https://sdgl.platform.example.com

Sign Up Form

Click “Create Account” and fill in the following information:

  • First Name: Your given name
  • Last Name: Your family name
  • Email Address: Your work email (important: must be from your organization’s domain)
  • Password: Strong password (min 12 characters with uppercase, lowercase, number, symbol)
  • Organization Name: Company/NGO/University name
  • Organization Type: Choose from:
    • Business (For-Profit)
    • Non-Profit / NGO
    • Academic Institution
    • Government Agency
    • Multi-Sector Network
    • Other

Verify Email

Check your email inbox for verification link from noreply@sdgl.platform

Step 2: Organization Setup

Welcome Email

You’ll receive a welcome email with your organization dashboard link.

Organization Profile

Complete your organization’s profile:

  • Organization Legal Name: Official registered name
  • Organization Type: Select category (required)
  • Staff Size:
    • 1-10
    • 11-50
    • 51-250
    • 251-1000
    • 1000+
  • Annual Revenue (Optional, confidential):
    • Used for benchmarking
    • Never shared publicly
  • Primary Sector: Choice from 100+ sectors
  • Geographic Headquarters: Country + City
  • Website URL: Your organization’s website
  • Logo: Upload organization logo (PNG/JPG, max 2MB)

Organization Description

Write 2-3 sentences about your organization’s mission and sustainability focus:

“XYZ Corp manufactures sustainable packaging materials for food industry. Founded 2015. 250 employees. Committed to carbon neutrality by 2030.”

Step 3: Set User Roles & Permissions

Invite Team Members (Optional)

Start with just yourself, add team members later, or invite now:

Click “Invite Team Member” to add colleagues:

  • Email: Their work email
  • Role: Choose from:
    • Admin: Full access, can invite others, change settings
    • Assessment Lead: Create/edit assessments, interpret results
    • Data Entry: Input data, but cannot see reports
    • Viewer: View-only access to reports
    • Finance Manager: Access billing information

User Management

Once invited, team members:

  1. Receive invitation email
  2. Create their own password
  3. Join your organization
  4. See their role-based dashboard

💡 Tip: Start with 1-2 people. Expand once platform use is established.

Step 4: Choose Your Subscription Plan

Select Plan

Visit Settings > Billing > Plans

Choose from:

Billing Information

Enter payment details:

  • Card holder name
  • Card number (encrypted, PCI-DSA compliant)
  • Expiration date
  • Billing email
  • Billing address

Subscription Confirmation

You’ll receive:

  • Confirmation email with invoice
  • Access to billing dashboard
  • Monthly invoice emails

Step 5: Set Up Data Sources (Optional)

Decide on Data Collection

Choose how to get your data:

Option A: Manual Entry

  • Self-assessment form (easiest, fastest)
  • Start immediately
  • ✅ Recommended for first assessment

Option B: System Integration

  • Connect ERP/CRM (Salesforce, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Automatic data sync
  • More accurate over time
  • ⏱️ Need IT support (1-2 days setup)

Option C: File Upload

  • Upload Excel/CSV files
  • Quarterly or monthly imports
  • ⏱️ Takes 30 min to first upload

Start Your First Assessment

Choose: “Create Assessment”

  • Assessment Type: Single organization (recommended for first time)
  • Name: e.g., “2026 Baseline Assessment”
  • Duration: 30-45 minutes to complete
  • Framework: ESGETC Standard (recommended)

Troubleshooting

”Email already exists”

You already have an account. Click “Forgot Password” to reset.

”Verification email not received”

Check spam folder. Click “Resend Verification Email” after 5 minutes.

”Can’t access after signing up”

Ensure you:

  1. Verified your email
  2. Completed organization setup
  3. Selected subscription plan or started trial
